Optimizing Extensive Wastewater Treatment Technologies to Enhance the Quality of Discharged Wastewater in Response to Rising Demands
The aim of the project is to monitor and evaluate the "modern" designs of extensive wastewater treatment plants (EWTPs). The goal is to identify conditions that can ensure the highest possible efficiency while considering investment and operational costs. The research involves conducting sampling campaigns at selected EWTPs and making technical and operational adjustments. The outcomes will not only benefit small municipalities but can also serve as a foundation for the functioning of state administration under the Ministry of Environment. The project will focus on the impact of wastewater dilution - it will include monitoring of EWTPs on separate and combined sewers and define the optimal system layout and operating conditions in relation to economics and discharged pollution.
