Abstract:
The presented methodology and project assignment were conceived as a continuation of the TAČR Éta project
(TL01000298) completed in 2020, the output of which was the first methodology for those interested in
modern agroforestry systems (ALS) in the conditions of the Czech Republic, entitled "Implementation
agroforestry systems on agricultural land'. She focused mainly on basic information about
types of ALS and the results of sociological and ethnological surveys among Czech farmers regarding
their barriers and benefits. An important chapter was also a description of the establishment of agroforestry systems.
However, the information provided was mainly based on foreign publications, or the first ones
home experiences.
The presented methodology therefore focused on other important aspects of ALS that were not possible in
to describe the first methodology for objective reasons, which was also given by the focus of the TAČR Éta program.
These are in particular:
- quantification and trends of environmental benefits of ALS important for our adaptation
landscape to the effects of climate change and the restoration of non-production functions as a result
negative anthropogenic activities,
- use of ALS in soil protection measures against water and wind erosion, including their incorporation
to the process of complex land improvements,
- evaluation of methodological approaches and analysis of the economic effectiveness of model ALS,
- evaluation of the impact of ALS on the production of agricultural crops.
Since the production and operational cycle of ALS exceeds 20-30 years, the project could capture only a small one
part of this period, but thanks to the appropriate choice of seven test stands it was possible in ours
conditions for the first time to collect relevant empirical data on production and environmental
parameters of silviculture, silvopasture and functional (non-productive) ALS.
