AdaptaN II - 2021 až 2024
More detailed information:
The project is a continuation of the previous, successfully evaluated project AdaptaN I, which was implemented in the time period 2015-2016 and was financially supported by the EEA Grants Norway Grants. The aim of the project is to support the implementation of selected nature-based adaptation and mitigation measures on the territory of the Moravian-Silesian Region in accordance with the main objective of the EEA NF "Bergen" call.
The Moravian-Silesian Region ("MSK") was the first region in the Czech Republic to develop a separate strategy "Adaptation Strategy of the Region to the impacts of climate change ("AS"). The project will support MSK by elaborating the next stages of implementation and realisation of adaptation measures, contribute to the implementation of 7 measures according to the Adaptation Strategy of MSK and elaborate a model for other regions for the whole implementation process of adaptation for open countryside and suburban zones simultaneously with the application of integrated approaches according to the NAP of the Czech Republic.
In accordance with the BERGEN call, the project supports the implementation of selected nature-based adaptation and mitigation measures in the territory of MSK. The project is directed to support the objectives of regional, national and European adaptation strategies to CK. The project addresses in particular drought and erosion protection, reduction of runoff, enhancement of retention and improvement of green infrastructure of the landscape. The project will identify suitable areas and vulnerable areas for precise targeting of measures. A landscape adaptation guide will be available for government departments and municipalities, stream managers, forestry and agricultural enterprises, NGOs, the professional public, and citizens in the region. The activities and outputs are planned for the whole region, selected territories and pilot municipalities in terms of territorial scope.
The implementation of the project will benefit the Regional Authority and the MSK ORP, the Odra River Basin, the Forestry Agency, the SPÚ, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Agriculture, and the relevant municipal authority for the implementation of demonstration projects. Thanks to the website, the outputs will be available to the general public, NGOs, planners, universities, high schools.
The involvement of NIBIO will lead to the transfer of Norwegian experience and, on the part of SPU, Slovak approaches. On the basis of an international partnership, 5 research entities (3 European countries) with a unique national position are being connected. The project brings innovative solutions and implementation of the results of scientific research projects including the transfer of good practice examples.
