An automation solution of storage function of a multi-reservoir system
The aim of this paper is an effort to give information to the expert public about the created program tool SOMVS (Simulation and Optimization Model of Water Management System) and its application possibilities. The program allows an automated solution of the water supply function of water management systems. The automation consists in an assembly of initialization matrices, an assembly of the governing equations, in sequential solution of the governing equations and an assembly of the dispatcher graphs of reservoirs. The process of automation allows users without special knowledge to solve the optimal development tasks and optimal control tasks of a water supply system. The program has an intuitive graphical user interface for easier handling. Configuring of the water management system is made using codes numbers. Codes numbers allow enter any configuration of a real water management system. According to requirements the program can assemble a simulation or optimization model of a water management system. The models can be used for solving the optimal development tasks and optimal control tasks of a water supply system. The graphical user interface allows the users to make necessary adjustments of the program. In the frame of the adjustments the control of the water runoff from the reservoirs in the simulation model can be modified and the form of the criterial function of the both models can be modified, too. Modification of the criterial function allows using the program for other purposes such as hydropower function of the reservoir system.
